When more than 30 pilot whales became stranded on Ruakākā Beach, the community came together in a heroic effort to save them. Over 1,000 volunteers and professionals used sheets to gently lift the whales and return them to the ocean.

Ever burn your toast in the morning and feel like it’s the start of a bad day?
Well, according to the Burnt Toast Theory, that little hiccup might just be the universe working in your favor.

The extra time spent making new toast might save you from a traffic accident. Or maybe it makes you late for a meeting, but in doing so, you cross paths with someone who will change your life.

Didn’t get the job? Trust the process. Lost an opportunity? Something even better might be on its way.

The universe has your back—burnt toast and all. So next time something doesn’t go your way, take a deep breath and remember: everything happens for a reason.

Instead of longing for what we don’t have, let’s cherish what we do. Someone, somewhere, dreams of the very things we take for granted every day.
