Our Changemaker of the Week is Chen Si

For 21 years, Mr. Chen Si has dedicated his life to patrolling the Yangtze Bridge in China, saving 469 lives from the brink of suicide. Every day, he crosses the bridge ten times on his electric scooter, wearing a red jacket with the words “cherish all life.”

Something to Ponder On:

 

When I run after what I think I want, my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety.

If I sit in my own place of patience, what I need flows to me, and without pain.

From this I understand that what I want also wants me, is looking for me and attracting me.

Spark of Inspiration:

I’m feeling inspired today by the incredible story of Zeng Zhiying, a 58-year-old Chilean table tennis player who just proved that achieving your Olympic dreams is possible at any age!

Zeng, who represented China as a young player before retiring at age 20, moved to Chile where she has lived for the past 35 years. After decades away from the sport, the pandemic prompted her to pick up the paddle again. In no time, she rose to become one of South America’s top players and her remarkable comeback journey led her to the Olympics in Paris.
